Easy Burger Buns

This recipe of Burger Buns is so easy and quick to prepare that you will never want to use the store-bought ones ever again. With basic ingredients, you probably already have them in your pantry, is only a matter of minutes until the buns are ready to be filled with your favorite patties and veggies.

Simply make the dough, divide it into pieces and let them rise directly on the baking sheet. Bake for no more than 15 minutes and your rolls are done, freshly baked, and smells divine.

How to make these easy burger buns

Begin by combining flour, sugar, dried yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Add milk, beaten egg, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined, then knead the dough until it becomes soft, slightly sticky, but elastic, and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

On a floured surface, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Cover the buns with a kitchen towel and allow them to rise for 30-40 minutes in a warm place. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Once the buns have risen, brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added flavor and texture.

Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and are fully baked.

Once done, remove the buns from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. These delicious homemade buns are perfect for sandwiches, burgers, or simply enjoyed on their own.

    Hi Hella!!
I am a fan of yours, your recipies are always stunningly prefect!!
In this last one I have a doubt….
If you skip the first rise, won’t the buns taste of yeast?
Thank you for your answer and many many greetings from Italy!!

I made these buns after watching your video and they turned out great. But, tbh, I didn’t exactly follow your formula or procedure. Since we don’t use milk per se I keep powdered skim milk on hand for recipes that require milk. So following the directions for the powdered milk I used it and adjusted the liquid accordingly. Also, being on the lazy side, I used my stand mixer to knead the dough. In the past I have had yeast fail out of a brand new jar so I also proof the yeast rather than add it directly to the dry ingredients. Finally I divided the dough into 6 pieces rather than 8 to accommodate our 5 oz hamburger patties. The buns went over really well with my sweetheart. She mentioned numerous times after dinner how much she liked them. Considering how easy they were to make it’s hard to understand why people even buy commercial bread products. Before attempting your formula I had watched other authors’ videos but yours impressed me the most so I’m grateful to you for sharing it with us. Even tho’ I am an experienced baker I still look for ways to add to my repertoire and again, thanks.
